Royal Challengers Bengaluru registered their 2nd win of the tournament winning by 35 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on 25th April 2024.

RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to bat first. It was an ideal start for Faf du Plessis and Kohli putting on SRH bowlers right from the word go. Kohli took the attack along with Faf du Plessis keeping momentum going. Faf du Plessis’ cameo innings ended caught by Markram. Du Plessis and Kohli added 48 runs laying a strong foundation for a decent total.

RCB looked impressive in the first six overs, scoring 61 for 1. Will Jacks’s struggle ended up being dismissed by Mayank Markande with a lovely delivery. Rajat Patidar came to the crease showing intent right from the word go putting pressure on SRH bowlers. RCB ended the first timeout at 84 for 2.

After the timeout, Rajat Patidar put enough pressure on SRH bowlers especially Mayank Markande hitting him 4 successive sixes that kept the momentum going for RCB. Patidar completed fifty off just 19 deliveries. He was soon dismissed the very next delivery caught by Samad. Patidar and Kohli added 65 runs for the 3rd wicket. At the end of 2nd timeout, RCB ended at 136 for 3.

Virat Kohli completed fifty off 37 deliveries—his struggle ended by Samad. Mahipal Lomror could not hit big shots caught by Cummins. Cameron Green showed intent to put pressure on SRH bowlers keeping the momentum for RCB. Dinesh Karthik also showed some lovely shots. Dinesh Karthik and Green added 32 runs for the 6th wicket. Swapnil Singh came as an impact player with two big shots that helped RCB post 206 for 7. For his 50 off 20 deliveries, Rajat Patidar was named player of the match award.

RCB bowlers did a great job 

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowlers did a great job by picking 4 wickets in the first six overs. Swapnil Singh took the wickets of Markram and Klassen in the same over to put pressure on SRH’s batting. Karn Sharma took wickets that dented SRH’s chances of winning.

Despite Cummins’s quickfire knock along with Shahbaz Ahmed, RCB won the match by 35 runs. It was a disciplined bowling effort as Karn Sharma, Cameron Green, and Swapnil Singh took 2 wickets each. Will Jacks and Yash Dayal took 1 wicket each.
