Team India batter Virat Kohli joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore camp for the upcoming 2024 Indian Premier League season. He expressed that he is delighted to join the squad and be back to playing cricket. The Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Chennai Super Kings in the season opener on March 22 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Virat Kohli will be back in action after a brief paternity leave. He and Anushka Sharma were blessed with a baby boy, Akaay last month. The veteran cricketer will be returning to the sport for the 2024 Indian Premier League season. The Royal Challengers Bangalore shared a video on social media, featuring Virat Kohli. The right-handed batter said,
“It is really good to be back, firstly playing cricket. Also, exciting to come back to Bangalore for the start of the IPL season. Similar emotions, similar feelings. I have not been off the media radar for two months, I have been into normalcy you can say. I am pretty happy to be back, I hope all the fans are happy and excited as well.”

Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer in the Indian Premier League tournament of all time. He has scored 7263 runs at an average of 37.25, and a strike rate of 130.02. He has seven centuries and 50 half-centuries to his name in the tournament.
Kohli had a brilliant 2023 Indian Premier League season for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was the second-leading run-scorer for them in the season. In 14 matches, he scored 639 runs at an average of 53.25, and a strike rate of 139.82. He smashed two centuries and six fifties in the 2023 season. The franchise will is hopeful that their former skipper will replicate a similar performance in the upcoming edition.
