MI and CSK played a total of 36 matches with each other with MI winning 20 of them while CSK registered 16 victories.  Before playing for Mumbai Indians, he played for Deccan Chargers who played a key role in helping them win the title in the 2009 edition. Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians won a record five titles in IPL history.

After being removed from the captaincy role this season, Rohit looked impressive putting pressure on bowlers right from the word go. He has scored 156 runs in 5 matches so far with the best score of 49 against Delhi Capitals. Rohit Sharma has featured in 27 matches against CSK for Mumbai Indians scoring a total of 732 runs with seven half-centuries to his name. During his seven half-centuries, his best knock came during the 2015 IPL finals where he scored 50 off 26 deliveries that helped MI post 202 for 5.

MI won the IPL title by 41 runs as they restricted CSK to 161 for 8. He then played another cameo that helped Mumbai Indians win their second title in the 2017 edition.

Rohit Sharma’s best performance for Mumbai Indians against CSK came on 22nd April 2011 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Rohit came at number 4 after the fall of Sachin Tendulkar’s wicket. He looked impressive with his attacking shots and then put on an excellent display of batting where other MI batters struggled.

Rohit made his highest score against CSK with 87 off 48 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes that helped MI post 164 for 4 in 20 overs. Mumbai Indians held onto their nerves to win the match by 8 runs and gain two valuable points in the tournament.
