IPL 2024- RR vs GT, Match 24- 3 Player Battles To Look Out For

IPL 2024

GT vs RR

Rajasthan Royals will look to continue their winning run as they will face Gujarat Titans in match 24 of IPL 2024 which will take place at Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur on 10th April.

It promises to be an exciting contest as RR would look to strengthen their position at the top while GT will be looking for an improved performance after they suffered 3 wickets against Punjab Kings.

Both teams have good quality players who can change the course of the game with their abilities.

Here we look at the 3 key player battles to look out for in match number 24 of IPL 2024 between RR and GT:

  1. Shubman Gill vs Trent Boult

Shubman Gill looked in sublime touch during the previous match against Punjab Kings. He scored 89 not out which ensured that GT posted 199 for 5 in 20 overs. On the other hand, Boult could not pick any wickets for the first time this season and struggled with his bowling.

Gill would need to tackle Trent Boult in the first six overs and must ensure that GT does not lose any early wickets. It will be an interesting battle to look out for in the first six overs which might decide the fate of the match.

  1. Jos Buttler vs Spencer Johnson

Jos Buttler returned to form with a brilliant unbeaten century that ensured that Rajasthan Royals won the match against RCB by six wickets. On the other hand, Spencer Johnson was included in the playing XI but gave away 32 runs in his 4 overs and did not pick any wickets.

Buttler would be hoping to continue his superb form while the Australian pace bowler will be eager to pick his wicket early putting pressure on RR’s batting.

Buttler can hit big runs if settled while Johnson would be hoping to stop him from scoring runs in the first six overs.

  1. Sanju Samson vs Rashid Khan

Sanju Samson showed his class against the Royals with a well complied 69 ensuring RR chased down the target of 184 easily. He plays the spinners brilliantly which could put GT bowlers under immense pressure.

On the other hand, Rashid Khan bowled well with 1 for 28 in 4 overs. The Afghan spinner has a poor record against Samson. Samson showed his prowess with three successive sixes in the 2023 edition of IPL.

Samson would be hoping to lead from the front while Rashid Khan will be trying to take his wicket ensuring that RR does not win the match.
