Rajasthan Royals named promising Mumbai all-rounder Tanush Kotian for Adam Zampa in IPL 2024 which will start from 22nd March onwards. Zampa decided to withdraw from the tournament due to personal reasons. He will be joining the Rajasthan Royals squad with a base price of 20 Lakhs.

Tanush Kotian played a stellar role in helping Mumbai win the 42nd Ranji Trophy title defeating Vidarbha by 169 runs at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. He had a great season for Mumbai with both bat and ball making life tough for the opponents.

Kotian took a total of 29 wickets in the entire Ranji Trophy season from 10 matches (18 innings) including best figures of 5 for 58. His contributions led Mumbai to recover from tough situations and helped them to win matches with brilliant batting.

“Tanush Kotian, who recently made solid all-round contributions as Mumbai won the 42nd Ranji Trophy title, joins RR for his base price of INR 20 Lac. He has represented Mumbai in 23 T20s, 26 First-Class games, and 19 List A matches,” read the statement from IPL.

Kotian showed his class with the ball during the recently concluded Ranji Trophy season. He grabbed a total of 29 wickets with match-winning brilliant performances in the finals against Vidarbha. The rising off-spinner took important wickets and helped Mumbai register victories.

He was superb with the bat also scoring 502 runs from 10 matches (14 innings) including 5 half-centuries and 1 century. His best score in the tournament was 120 not out in the quarterfinals against Baroda. He showed his class with a match-winning knock of 89 coming lower down the order and helped Mumbai recover from a dire situation making sure that they took a lead in the semi-finals against Tamil Nadu.

Robin Minz

The Rajasthan Royals have two quality spinners in their ranks including R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal. Their squad looks impressive as bought Rovman Powell to strengthen their middle order. Gujarat Titans named Karnkata wicketkeeper BR Sharath as a replacement for Robin Minz. Minz was bought by GT for Rs 3.60 Crore but due to a bike accident, he has not been able to recover.

Schedule of RR for the first four matches

Rajasthan Royals begins their tournament against Lucknow Super Giants at Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur on 24th March. They will then play against Delhi Capitals at home on 28th March.

Sanju Samson and Co will then travel to Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai to face Mumbai Indians on 1st April. Their final match of the first half will be played on 6th April against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Jaipur.
