Gujarat Titans will host Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first match of the doubleheader to be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 31st March 2024. Gujarat Titans is coming with a huge 63-run loss against defending Champions Chennai Super Kings at M Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a 31-run victory over Mumbai Indians. Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma’s, Markram’s, and Klassen’s brilliance helped SRH post the highest total in IPL history of 277.

Shubman Gill has been appointed as the captain of Gujarat Titans for this season replacing Hardik Pandya. Under his captaincy, GT held onto his nerves to win the first match against Mumbai Indians by six runs.

“I think he’s been doing well. The first game went close, and we were able to pull things back. And the second game was, you know, they batted well, and a tough game for us. But then, as a captain, it is about backing the players, and I think he’s doing that well,” said Shankar.

Gujarat Titans will look to win their second match of the season against Sunrisers Hyderabad at home. Their performance against Chennai Super Kings was not up to the mark as they conceded 206 for 6 in 20 overs. In reply, Gujarat Titans could post 143 for 8 in 20 overs.

Vijay Shankar’s batting has depended upon the situation in the match. He has been floated up and down the order. He needs to click as Gujarat Titans would look to register their 2nd win of this season.

Gujarat Titans’ big loss to Chennai Super Kings has slipped them to 7th position. It promises to be an exciting encounter as SRH batting looks solid with the likes of Head, Abhishek Sharma, Klassen, and Markram which can change the course of the game with their power-hitting.

“Best thing about GT is the way gives role clarity. I’ve always been up and on Ranji Trophy about, like 4,5,6,7 everywhere. So it is always about adapting. So it is a challenging thing, because if you’re going to bat up the order or number three, you know you can prepare in a certain way, but if I’m going to bat four or six or seven, or even five, like you know, you have to be flexible in adapting to different situations and conditions. So, yeah, it’s been very clear here,” said Shankar.
