Indian skipper Rohit Sharma discussed his wife Ritika Sajdeh’s supportive superstition during his recent appearance on ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’. Host Kapil Sharma humorously inquired if any bowler had ever asked Rohit to refrain from hitting sixes due to his girlfriend’s presence at the stadium.
In response, Rohit explained that although he’s had similar discussions with bowlers, he emphasizes that his wife’s supportive gesture of keeping her fingers crossed during matches is more significant to him.
“Baatien hui hai aisi, but maine unko bola hai ke bhai teri to girlfriend hai, meri to biwi aayi hai. Bechari pure match mein fingers cross karke baithi rehti hai. To, woh zyada important hai mere liye.”
“(Yes, there have been such conversations, but I’ve told that them while your girlfriend has come, I have my wife who is here. Poor girl sits with crossed fingers for the whole match So, that’s more important to me.),” Rohit said.

Rohit Sharma and his team had a strong performance at the 2023 World Cup, entering the final with a remarkable 10-match winning streak. However, their momentum was abruptly halted in the summit clash against Australia.
