IPL 2024 [WATCH]- Ravi Bishnoi’s Remarkable One-Handed Catch Dismisses Kane Williamson

Lucknow Super Giants’ spinner Ravi Bishnoi made an incredible catch during the match against Gujarat Titans at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday, April 8. His catch to dismiss Kane Williamson is a strong candidate for the top catch of IPL 2024.

Bishnoi delivered an impressive performance during the 8th over of the second innings as LSG defended their total of 163. Despite Titans losing only one wicket in the powerplay, thanks to Yash Thakur dismissing Shubman Gill in the 6th over, Bishnoi’s delivery, aimed fuller and drifting into the right-hander, caused trouble for Williamson.

Attempting an on-drive, Williamson mistimed the shot, chipping the ball back towards the bowler. Bishnoi, with quick reflexes, leaped like a bird, stretching his right hand out to grab the catch before landing on the ground.

The catch by Ravi Bishnoi to dismiss Kane Williamson is hailed as the standout catch of IPL 2024

The catch played a crucial role in disrupting GT’s momentum, as they had a strong start with Gill and new opener Sai Sudharsan, reaching 54 runs before losing Gill on the final ball of the powerplay.

Gill’s dismissal marked the beginning of a series of wickets falling, with batters struggling to settle on the pitch. Despite bowling only two overs, Bishnoi managed to claim one wicket, finishing with figures of 1/8.

Krunal Pandya was economical in his four overs, conceding only 11 runs while capturing three wickets. Yash returned to claim four additional wickets, securing his first five-wicket haul of the tournament.

After starting strongly at 54/0, the hosts’ visitors quickly plummeted to 61/4. Krunal dismissed Sudharsan and debutant Sharath BR in the 9th over, followed by Darshan Nalkande in the 13th.

Yash arrived to dismantle the lower middle order and tail, paving the way for the hosts to secure a significant 33-run victory. Previously, LSG posted a total of 163 on a somewhat challenging pitch.

Marcus Stoinis contributed 58 runs off 44 balls, while Nicholas Pooran’s late surge of 32 runs from 22 balls propelled them beyond the 160-run mark.
