IPL 2024: [WATCH]- Ravindra Jadeja Takes Three Wickets Within Two Overs vs KKR

In the IPL 2024 match at Chepauk on Monday, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja made an immediate impact by taking the wicket of Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) Angkrish Raghuvanshi with his first delivery.

He followed it up by dismissing Sunil Narine three balls later, resulting in a highly successful over. Raghuvanshi, who started well, attempted a reverse sweep against the left-arm spinner from Saurashtra.

However, he missed the ball, and the umpire ruled him out lbw. Replays indicated that the ball just clipped the top of the leg stump. Meanwhile, Narine went after a delivery wide outside the off-stump and edged it to long-off, where Maheesh Theekshana took an easy catch. You can watch the video here:

The 35-year-old also took the wicket of Venkatesh Iyer when the left-hander mistimed a pull shot to deep mid-wicket, where Daryl Mitchell took an exceptional catch. The Super Kings won the toss, and Ruturaj Gaikwad opted to bowl first against the visiting team.

While the Knight Riders fielded an unchanged side, the hosts made three changes, introducing Sameer Rizvi, Shardul Thakur, and Mustafizur Rahman.

KKR loses Phil Salt on the opening delivery

KKR, batting first after being put in, suffered an early setback when explosive opener Phil Salt fell to the first delivery of the innings. He edged a wide ball from Tushar Deshpande to backward point, where Jadeja held onto an overhead catch.

Jadeja’s early wicket in the first over ended the 56-run partnership between Raghuvanshi and Narine. After securing two consecutive victories, the defending champions suffered back-to-back defeats against the Delhi Capitals and SunRisers Hyderabad.

On the other hand, the Kolkata-based franchise remains unbeaten in IPL 2024, defeating SunRisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals.

Their triumph against the Capitals was particularly noteworthy as they posted a massive total of 272 runs in 20 overs, ultimately winning by a margin of 106 runs.
