Virat Kohli Video Calls His Wife, Anushka Sharma After The RCB vs PBKS Game

After a tough four-wicket victory against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2024, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Virat Kohli video called his wife, Anushka Sharma, from the ground. Despite a challenging chase of 177, with RCB’s top and middle-order batsmen struggling, Kohli took the responsibility upon himself to guide his team to victory.

Kohli began aggressively with several boundaries during the powerplay, then maintained a steady pace through the middle overs, scoring 77 runs from 49 balls, laying a foundation for the home team. Following his dismissal in the 16th over, Dinesh Karthik (28*) remained composed under pressure and, along with Mahipal Lomror (17*), successfully concluded the match.

Kohli’s outstanding performance as Player of the Match reaffirmed his status as a skilled chase specialist in limited-overs cricket, silencing doubters questioning his spot in the Indian T20 team before the upcoming World Cup.

Post-match, Virat Kohli was seen chatting with his wife, Anushka Sharma, and their children via video call. Some fans on X shared glimpses of this interaction on social media.

“I could not have been more grateful to God for the time to spend with my family”- Virat Kohli on his two-month cricket break

During the post-match presentation, Virat Kohli shared about the valuable time he enjoyed with his family during his cricket break, expressing thanks to God for the chance. He stated:

“We were not in the country, at a place where people were not recognizing us. Just time together as a family, just to feel normal for two months. For us as a family was a surreal experience. Having two kids makes things completely different from a family perspective.”

He continued: “Just to be together, the connections that you make with your older child… I could not have been more grateful to God for the time to spend with my family. When we came back, the voices felt that more loud. I was not used to my name being so called so much in those two months, so it hit again. It was beautiful, an amazing experience to be just another person on the road.”

RCB’s next match will be against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Friday (March 29) at the same location.
