Abhishek Sharma, an all-rounder for SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), made a rather rare appeal during a practice match before IPL 2025. He was bowling left-arm orthodox to a fellow teammate, Ishan Kishan, when Abhishek bowled a full-length delivery on the middle stump line, which Ishan nudged onto the leg side and ran for a single.
When the fielder threw the ball at the non-striker’s end, Kishan’s bat deflected it in a different direction. Abhishek straight ran to the umpire to appeal about Ishan’s obstruction in the field. This incident was captured on video by a fan who posted it on X (formerly Twitter), leaving cricket enthusiasts buzzing with excitement.

SunRisers Hyderabad bought Ishan Kishan for 11.25 crore Indian rupees during mthe megaauction IPL 2025 held in Saudi Arabia. The 26-year-old wicketkeeper-batter was released by Mumbai Indians (MI) just before the auction. During his run with MI, Kishan scored 320 runs through 14 matches at a strike rate of 148.84, including one half-century.
He made his debut in IPL in 2016, where he played for the now-disbanded Gujarat Lions and then with the Lions in 2017, followed by signing on with the Mumbai Indians just before IPL 2018. His experience and skills will be great assets for SRH next season.
As always, SRH will try to prepare, fine-tuning its skills and strategy in the lead up to IPL 2025. Also adding to the excitement would be the now-famous practice match incident between Abhishek and Ishan. With Kishan in their ranks, SRH would hope to do justice to the hype at the very outset.
