Indian fast bowler Deepak Chahar has switched from the Chennai Super Kings to the Mumbai Indians franchise for the forthcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. He was priced at ₹2 crore as the base price, eventually bought for a whopping rainforest price of ₹9.25 crore by MI. This right-handed fast bowler was retained by CSK in the past, but he couldn’t get enough chances owing to the nasty injuries.

Both CSK and MI were in contention for Chahar, but finally, MI got the deal signed. The history of Chahar may have made some teams cautious about his injury problem, but his talent and pedigree justify him as an asset to any franchise looking to build a successful side. Being a swing bowler, he has the ability to get important breakthroughs; this doesn’t need mentioning.

Chahar has moved to MI, and in doing so, he will fortify the bowling attack further. He can form a dangerous duo with the other MI bowlers, considering his experience and skills. As Chahar sets foot on the new chapter with MI, he will hope to bury his injury woes behind him and make a mark on the IPL landscape.

Deepak Chahar stats in T20 cricket

Deepak Chahar’s T20 statistics speak for themselves in terms of the value he brings to his side as a bowler. He has taken 169 wickets in 148 T20s at an average of 24.10 wickets per match, which speaks of his efficiency when it comes to delivering balls.

His IPL record, much like his T20 outings, is quite impressive. From 81 matches, he managed to bag 77 wickets at 28.84. Interestingly, 76 of those wickets have come while he donned the yellow jersey of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Much of the strong evidence from Chahar lies with the statistics presented regarding his remarkable T20 prowess and record in clutch deliveries under pressure. Given his record, he stands to fit into any team quite snugly, and with his signing by the Mumbai Indians, one could expect him to be a big boost in the bowling department.
