IPL 2025 Auction: PBKS Buy Yuzvendra Chahal For A Massive ₹18 crore

The Indian Premier League (IPL) most successful bowler, Yuzvendra Chahal, is added to the Punjab Kings for only Rs. 18 crore. The transaction was signed during the IPL 2025 mega auction held in Jeddah on Sunday. Chahal will add strength to the Punjab Kings’ lineup. Also, the franchise had a tough battle against Sunrisers Hyderabad for opting for Chahal.

Chahal has been the most successful this IPL with 205 wickets in 160 games. He has been a good player in this kind of tournament; his variety and strength of taking wickets and conserving the run rate are a plus to the group. Chahal was a part of the Rajasthan Royals’ earlier and was quite effective there, 66 wickets in 46 games.

Chahal, the Indian menace who has earlier played IPL for Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians. He is also one of the 19 players who have the bowling hat-trick feat in the IPL. However, in the 2022 season, Chahal became the winner of the Purple Cap, which means he was the bowler who took the maximum number of wickets in the entire season: 27 wickets, 17 matches on average with 19.51 wickets and 7.75 avearge.

Punjab Kings have opted for Chahal at the starting price of Rs. 18 crore as a mark of their statement of intent to prepare for the new season of the IPL. The team will expect Chahal to make a big statement in the tournament with his inclusion in the playing XI.

Yuzvendra Chahal IPL Teams:

He was with the Bengaluru-based team from 2014 to 2021, with best bowling figures of 139 wickets in 113 matches. He went to the Rajasthan Royals in 2022. Chahal amassed a total of 66 wickets in three seasons playing for the Royals.

Moreover, Chahal has taken maximum Indian wickets in Men’s T20 international matches. He ranks only behind Deepti Sharma in respect of the number of wickets he has claimed for India out of all the Twenty20 internationals.
