IPL 2025 Auction: Punjab Kings Keep Arshdeep Singh For Rs 18 Crore Via RTM

Punjab Kings (PBKS) have successfully retained Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh for Rs 18 Crore using the Right-To-Match (RTM) at the IPL 2025 auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In a fierce bidding war, Sunrisers Hyderabad outbid Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans with a bid of Rs 15.75 Crore for Arshdeep.

However, Punjab Kings exercised their RTM to secure his services. Arshdeep, a key bowler for India in the T20 format, has built a solid reputation as a specialist in white-ball cricket, with 95 wickets from 59 matches.

His standout performance in the T20 World Cup earlier this year, where he took 17 wickets in 8 matches at an impressive average of 12.47, showcased his talent and solidified his place as one of India’s premier bowlers.

Arshdeep Singh’s IPL career has been impressive, with 76 wickets in 65 matches since his debut in 2019. However, he took his game to new heights in IPL 2024, forming a formidable pace partnership with Harshal Patel, capturing 19 wickets in 14 matches for Punjab Kings.

Despite his exceptional performances and growing reputation in international T20 cricket, Punjab Kings decided to let Arshdeep go, creating an opportunity for other franchises to sign the pacer and potentially have him lead their bowling attack.
