IPL 2025: DC All-Rounder Reveals Choice Between Kohli And Rohit’s Wickets

Delhi Capitals (DC) all-rounder Vipraj Nigam revealed that dismissing Virat Kohli gave him greater satisfaction than removing Rohit Sharma during the 2025 IPL season. Featuring in his debut campaign, the 21-year-old showcased his skills with both leg-spin bowling and handy lower-order batting.

Nigam finished the season with 11 wickets, which notably included the prized scalps of Kohli and Rohit—taken in fixtures against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI), respectively. He outfoxed Kohli in the air to have him caught in the deep, while Rohit fell to an LBW dismissal.

Speaking to Crictracker, when asked which wicket felt more rewarding, Nigam responded:

“For sure, Virat Kohli’s wicket gave me more satisfaction because it came at RCB’s home ground. To dismiss such a big legend in front of his home crowd was really special. I had said during the IPL itself that he was my dream wicket, so definitely Virat Kohli.”

“A Dream Come True”: Vipraj Nigam On Facing Dhoni And Virat

Vipraj Nigam described meeting and interacting with icons Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni during the 2025 IPL as a dream come true. The promising all-rounder even shared his excitement on social media, posting about the memorable moments with the two legends. Nigam starred with 2/27 as DC beat CSK by 25 runs.

“First of all, just getting to play against and speak with Dhoni and Virat was a dream for me. I used to see on Instagram and social media how players meet and chat after matches, so experiencing that myself felt really special,” said Nigam (via the aforementioned source).

He further added:

“When I spoke to them, I mainly asked about my bowling and where I could improve and how to get better. Even though it was our first interaction, they were very open and gave me honest feedback, along with advice on how I could keep improving in the future.”
