The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) gave another fine performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL), beating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 5 wickets at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Thursday. Nicholas Pooran (70) and Mitchell Marsh (52) led LSG in brilliant batting form and scored the finishing touches of the match by successfully chasing a target of 191 in just 16.1 overs.
The match started with LSG winning the toss and opting to field first. SRH started well, with Travis Head scoring 47 off 27 balls, but the innings was curtailed with an unusual run-out where Heinrich Klaasen fell, and thereafter the SRH inning never gained momentum with Shardul Thakur taking 4 wickets for 37 runs in his 4 overs.
Thakur’s critical spell restricted his opponents to a decent target, and fellow LSG bowlers supported him well, while Avesh Khan and Mohsin Khan also claimed one wicket each. SRH finally halted their innings at 190/9.

Pooran’s innings was the kick that propelled LSG forward, with considerable assistance in the effort from Mitchell Marsh, who gathered a valuable 52 runs.
Travis Head’s Fighting Knock for SRH
Travis Head: The top scorer for SRH, who scored 47 off 27 balls. Consisting of 5 fours and 2 sixes, Head’s innings saw him take on the LSG bowlers. Barring defeat in the match, there were some satisfying moments in what was a miserable innings for SRH.
Shardul Thakur’s Four -Wicket Haul

Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Abhinav Manohar, and Mohammed Shami account for Shardul Thakur’s prized haul of wickets.
