Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) stalwart Virat Kohli reached another major milestone during his team’s IPL 2025 clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the new Chandigarh Stadium on Sunday, April 20. The right-hander went past former SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper David Warner to claim the record for most half-centuries in IPL history.
This marked his sixth fifty against the Punjab franchise. Kohli brought up his half-century off 43 balls, recording his 67th IPL fifty in his 260th game. The 36-year-old also tops the IPL centuries chart with eight and is the only batter to surpass 8,000 runs in the league.
Meanwhile, Warner finished his IPL career with 66 fifties in 184 matches between 2009 and 2024. He represented Delhi Capitals last season but went unsold ahead of the 2025 edition.

Kohli-Padikkal Achieve Rare Running Feat in PBKS vs RCB Clash
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batters Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal pulled off an impressive feat by running four runs off a single ball during their IPL 2025 clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Sunday, April 20. The match took place at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.
Kohli and Padikkal, who previously opened together between 2019 and 2021, had stitched a 181-run unbeaten stand against Rajasthan Royals (RR) during that time. They also shared an unbeaten 83-run stand in RCB’s recent win over the same team this season.
In the PBKS encounter, the duo showcased their fitness and coordination by running four after Padikkal placed Arshdeep Singh’s delivery towards the leg side. Despite the ball being stopped short of the boundary, their sharp running turned it into a rare four-run effort.
