After the win against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday night, RR (Rajasthan Royals) batter Riyan Parag was seen taking a photo with a group of men. This group was likely the ground staff at the Barsapara stadium, Guwahati. Riyan Parag has often surfaced the online social media platforms for several reasons in the last few years, and most of them have not been for good reasons.
Riyan Parag Tosses the Phone of a Ground Staff in the Air
Riyan Parag tossed the phone of the ground staff in the air after taking the photo with them. Parag was visibly serious before and after the photo, but was smiling while taking the picture. The major moment came after the photo. Parag tossed the phone in the air and left it for the groundsmen to catch and walked away. Watch it below.

Parag didn’t really score too big during the innings. Batting first, RR scored 182 runs losing nine wickets in 20 overs. Parag scored 37 runs from 28 balls, at a strike rate of 132.14.
The actions of Parag didn’t really sit well with the fans online. Take a look at some of the reactions below.

Riyan Parag is the same cricketer who said last year that he does not want to watch the T20 world Cup because he is not in the playing squad.
With such an attitude, he can find a way out pretty easily one day. He needs to correct himself quickly.

Rian’s arrogance is so high that even gravity struggles to keep him grounded. pic.twitter.com/5h7YvAFnyJ

Objectively, Parag didn’t do it because of having an inferiority complex. He just tossed the phone casually, like a friend would do. There was no intention to disregard the safety of the phone. Parag is a north eastern boy from Assam. He likely has plenty of fans in the region as very few people from the North East have been able to make it to the big stage. Riyan Parag has been continuously representing RR in the IPL.
For the IPL 2025, Riyan Parag was sold for Rs 14 crore in the mega auctions. In 2024, Parag was the highest run-getter for RR and that’s why the team likely didn’t want to see him go to another team. RR has now played three games and won one of them, and stands second last in the table.
