Mohammed Siraj’s Perfect Delivery Castles Devdutt Padikkal in RCB vs GT Clash

The IPL 2025 season continues to thrill cricket fans, and Mohammed Siraj’s fiery spell against his former team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), has been a major highlight. The Gujarat Titans’ pacer bowled a stunning delivery to clean-bowl Devdutt Padikkal, putting RCB on the backfoot in the crucial 14th match of the tournament at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Mohammed Siraj’s Impactful Spell Against RCB

Siraj wasted no time in making an impact, delivering two near-unplayable balls early in his spell. His pace, movement, and accuracy troubled the RCB batters right from the start. Bowling with lethal intent, Siraj consistently hit the deck hard, forcing the batters to play uncomfortable shots.

Siraj’s Breakthrough: Dismissing Devdutt Padikkal

In his second over, Siraj ensured he didn’t let opportunity slip, delivering a perfect back-of-a-length ball to trap Devdutt Padikkal. By making Padikkal move forward aggressively, Siraj forced an ill-timed shot, which resulted in the batter’s stumps being castled.

Bowling on the middle and leg stump, Siraj got the ball to nip away slightly, deceiving Padikkal completely. Padikkal tried to loft the ball over the off-side but missed, watching in horror as the stumps lit up behind him. Siraj has dismissed Padikkal three times in the IPL, restricting him to just 15 runs off 17 deliveries at an average of 5.66. Siraj has been Gujarat Titans’ standout bowler, conceding just 15 runs while picking up two crucial wickets in 3 overs.

Jitesh Sharma’s Crucial Knock

Padikkal’s dismissal left the middle order under immense pressure. Wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma played a crucial hand, scoring 33 runs off 24 balls, including five fours and a six. Despite the early setbacks, Jitesh provided some stability before his dismissal. With Liam Livingstone (23) and Krunal Pandya (5) at the crease, RCB must rebuild their innings to post a competitive total. With RCB struggling at 103/5 in 14 overs.
