IPL 2025: [WATCH] Rishabh Pant Loses Bat In Bizarre Dismissal During PBKS vs LSG Match

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper Rishabh Pant continued to struggle with the bat, enduring another disappointing outing in the IPL 2025 clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Dharamsala on Sunday. The left-hander attempted an aggressive heave but ended up losing both his bat and his wicket, becoming the Super Giants’ fourth casualty of the innings.

The incident unfolded in the eighth over when Shreyas Iyer introduced Azamtullah Omarzai for his second spell. Facing a back-of-a-length delivery outside off, Pant charged down the pitch in search of a boundary.

However, he mistimed the shot, sending the ball in the opposite direction. Shashank Singh, stationed at deep point, ran in to complete an easy catch. Rishabh Pant was dismissed for 18 runs off 17 deliveries. Watch the moment here:

The 27-year-old has had a tough IPL 2025 campaign, managing just a single half-century so far. His performances have fallen short of expectations, especially considering his hefty ₹27 crore price tag at the auction, which includes two scoreless outings.

Omarzai capitalized on the momentum by dismissing David Miller next, as the South African mistimed a shot to deep backward point. The same fielder completed the catch, sending Miller back for 11.

LSG collapsed early in the chase before Pant’s arrival

Set a daunting target of 237 after Punjab Kings posted 236/5 in their 20 overs, the Super Giants’ chase was quickly derailed by Arshdeep Singh. The left-arm pacer struck early, removing the dangerous Mitchell Marsh for a duck and Aiden Markram for 13 in the same over. He later dismissed Nicholas Pooran for just 6, delivering a major blow to LSG’s hopes.

Earlier, Super Giants won the toss and chose to bowl. Though Priyansh Arya managed just 1 run, key contributions from Prabhsimran Singh (91), Josh Inglis (30), Shreyas Iyer (45), and an unbeaten 33 from Shashank Singh powered Punjab to an imposing total.

However, in Match 54 of IPL 2025, Punjab Kings (PBKS) secured a 37-run win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
