IPL 2025: [WATCH] Twitterati Reacts As Sanjiv Goenka Holds An Extensive Talk With Rishabh Pant Following LSG’s Defeat

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka had an extensive conversation with captain Rishabh Pant after their defeat against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Monday, March 24, at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. In a nail-biting finish, Delhi secured a one-wicket victory, successfully chasing down a target of 210 in just 19.3 overs.

Led by Axar Patel, Delhi Capitals managed to turn the game around at the last moment, starting their campaign with a thrilling win. Following LSG’s loss, Sanjiv Goenka engaged in a detailed discussion with Rishabh Pant and head coach Justin Langer in the team’s dugout.

A video of their conversation has been circulating on social media, drawing comparisons to Goenka’s intense exchange with former LSG captain KL Rahul last season. However, this time, the discussion appeared constructive, as he interacted with both the skipper and the coach.

Ashutosh Sharma Guides Delhi to Thrilling Victory

Rishabh Pant had a forgettable debut for Lucknow, as he was dismissed for a six-ball duck by Kuldeep Yadav. The 27-year-old also struggled behind the stumps, missing a crucial stumping chance of Mohit Sharma in the final over—an opportunity that could have secured victory for his team.

Lucknow appeared set for a massive total, reaching 161/2 in 13.2 overs. However, Pant’s dismissal triggered a collapse, with Nicholas Pooran (75 off 30) also departing soon after. As a result, LSG had to settle for 209/8 in their 20 overs. Delhi’s chase got off to a disastrous start, slipping to 65/5 in 6.4 overs.

However, Ashutosh Sharma, batting at number seven, displayed remarkable intent to keep his team in the hunt. He stitched crucial partnerships with Tristan Stubbs (34 off 22) and Vipraj Nigam (39 off 15), eventually steering Delhi to victory with an unbeaten 66 off 31 balls. His match-winning effort earned him the well-deserved Player of the Match award in Delhi’s thrilling win.
