Indian Premier League is the flagship T20 cricket league in the world. The money involved in the cash-rich league is huge. It is one of the main reasons why almost every top cricket wishes to play in IPL. But when it comes to top Indian cricketers who earn the most in IPL. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni were retained by their respective franchises before the mega auction of IPL in 2018.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli is the only player that has all played all IPL seasons with the same team. Kohli was brought by RCB in 2008 and has been an integral part of the side since then. RCB skipper Virat Kohli is the most expensive Indian cricketer in IPL history as he earns a whopping 17 crores per season. Before the first IPL season, RCB bought a young Virat Kohli for only Rs. 12 Lakhs. Kohli although struggled in the initial few seasons but later earned his stripes.

Kohli is today the biggest attraction in cricket and that is why he is at the top when it comes to earnings from the IPL. He was appointed the full-time captaincy of RCB in 2013 and since then has led the franchise.

2. Rohit Sharma

The swashbuckling Rohit started his IPL career with Deccan Chargers Hyderabad. He was touted as the next great India batsmen and was bought by Deccan chargers for Rs. 3 crores. He became part of his hometown franchise Mumbai Indians in 2013.

Since then he has transformed the fortunes of the franchise by becoming captain. The elegant batsmen have led MI to title wins in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019. Rohit Sharma today per season now earns Rs. 15 crores from the IPL.

3. MS Dhoni

The Chennai Super Kings legendary skipper MS Dhoni also earns 15 crores every season playing in the IPL. CSK is known by the name of MS Dhoni as he is now literally become a home town boy in Chennai. CSK has been by far the most consistent IPL side in tournament’s history.

The yellow army has won IPL in 2010, 2011 and 2018 all under the leadership of Dhoni. The former India skipper will always remain the fan favourite of loyal CSK’s supporter till the time he is part of the franchise.
