Irfan Pathan is still going strong and scoring runs in T20 cricket. The former India all-rounder is currently playing for the Kandy Tuskers in the first edition of Lanka Premier League. Pathan achieved a unique double in T20 cricket and became only the second India to complete the rare feat.
In the Lanka Premier League, Pathan completed 2000 runs in T20 cricket. Now Pathan has become only the second India cricketer after Ravindra Jadeja to score 2000 runs and pick 150 wickets in the shortest format. Pathan who was part of the ICC T20 world cup winning squad of team India in 2007 has 173 wickets to his name in the shortest format.
Irfan Pathan Joins Ravindra Jadeja
Before Pathan, only Ravindra Jadeja had done the unique double of 2000 runs and 150 wickets in T20 cricket. The 36-year-old is batting well and scoring against quality international bowlers in the LPL. Pathan for the Kandy Tuskers has batted at the crucial number 7 spot and played as a finisher.
The Indian all-rounder looked rusty in the initial few matches but has now found his touch. However, Pathan has still been wicketless in the LPL and will be keen to add to his tally of 173 wickets in T20 cricket. Pathan represented India in 29 Tests, 120 ODIs and 24 T20Is. He was an active member of the India side in the 2000s in all forms of the game.

Meanwhile, the former India cricketer also has the experience of playing 103 IPL matches. In his 9 years long IPL career, Irfan Pathan represented Kings XI Punjab, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, Rising Pune Supergiants and Gujarat Lions. Post his retirement he has been actively working as a Hindi commentator during the home matches of team India.
