Team India have reportedly added young wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan for the upcoming three-match ODI series against West Indies, starting February 6 in Ahmedabad. Earlier, they have added Mayank Agarwal to the squad.
Seven members of the Indian contingent, including senior opener Shikhar Dhawan, reserve opener Ruturaj Gaikwad, middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer and net bowler Navdeep Saini tested positive for the virus during their mandatory isolation period.
With India struggling to put in a decent squad for the ODI series, the management has decided to draft in Ishan Kishan. Originally, the young wicket-keeper batsman was drafted into the T20I squad.

Incidentally, Ishan Kishan made his ODI debut last year against Sri Lanka. He played a blistering innings of 42-ball 59 in that game, becoming the only Indian to score half-centuries on both ODI and T20I debuts.
If he is selected ahead of Mayank Agarwal, Ishan will pair up with captain Rohit Sharma at the top with regular options Shikhar Dhawan and Ruturaj Gaikwad ruled out of the tie after testing positive for COVID-19.
Team India reports no new COVID-19 cases
The management will breathe a sigh of relief after all the remaining tested negative for COVID-19 in the fresh tests. The team under the leadership of Rohit Sharma has also started training for the one dayers.
“No new COVID-19 case has been reported in the bubble and the members have started training. The players barring the positive members have started training,” the source pointed to ANI.
The upcoming three-game ODI series against West Indies is scheduled to start on Sunday 6 February, with a T20I series to follow between Wednesday 16 February and Sunday 20 February.
