Ishan Kishan Eyes A Return To Team India Through Ranji Trophy

Ishan Kishan has been out of Team India for a while after his conflict with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which led to his removal from the national side. Kishan last played for India in November 2023 in a T20 match against Australia.

He was also part of the squad for the Test series against South Africa in late 2023 but withdrew due to personal reasons. Since then, Kishan hasn’t made an appearance for India, and he’s eager to make his return by performing well in domestic cricket.

Focus on Ranji Trophy and Leadership
Ishan Kishan is now fully focused on domestic cricket, particularly the Ranji Trophy, to make a strong case for his selection back into the national team. He is currently captaining the Jharkhand team and is leading them against Assam.

Kishan recently shared photos of himself practicing for the Ranji Trophy, with the caption “Courage in every step,” reflecting his determination. His goal is clear: to perform at his best in the domestic circuit and earn his place back in Team India.

Challenges Ahead with Competition for the Wicketkeeper Spot
The competition for the wicketkeeper-batsman position is fierce, with players like Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, and Jitesh Sharma in the mix. Pant, who has made a strong comeback across all formats, has set the bar high.

While Pant is being rested for the ongoing T20 series against Bangladesh, players like Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson are getting opportunities. This increases the pressure on Kishan to perform exceptionally well in domestic tournaments to stand out among his peers. Only by excelling in the Ranji Trophy can Kishan hope to regain his spot in the Indian team.

Through dedication and consistent performance, Kishan aims to prove that he’s ready for an international comeback.
