Indian skipper Virat Kohli scored 35 and 18 in the two innings of the first Test in Centurion. The wait for his 71st international century continues as Kohli has found himself fishing at deliveries wide outside off stump. The horrors of the 2014 England tour seems to be back for the Indian skipper. This is something Aakash Chopra eluded to in his latest Youtube video.
Analysing the day’s play, Aakash Chopra opened up on Virat Kohli’s dismissal saying that Kohli’s mode of dismissals have troubled him in the past and is troubling him in this series as well.

“The way he [Kohli] is getting out to wide deliveries, the number of times he is getting out playing the drive, it happened with him in 2014 as well. It is happening again with him now. At times, he is making mistakes he never used to” said Chopra.

Aakash Chopra further said that the cover drive which was Virat Kohli’s strength once is now leading to his downfall. Marcon Jansen perfectly lured Kohli to accept the bait and he did. Kohli was dismissed in the first ball after the lunch break on day 4.

“Sam Curran, Ngidi, Pat Cummins, Anderson, Marco Jansen – all of them got him out. I have not seen him getting out to the drive so many times like this. So there is a problem. He used to play very good cover drives earlier, it was a beautiful story but at this time, it is a problem.”
Meanwhile, the hosts find themselves 94/4 chasing 305 to win. They need another 211 runs on the final day of the Test match as India are seeking six wickets to win.
Brief Scores: India 327 (KL Rahul 123, Mayank Agarwal 60; Lungisani Ngidi 6-71, Kagiso Rabada 3-72) & 174 (Rishabh Pant 34; Kagiso Rabada 4-42, Marco Jansen 4-55) lead South Africa 197 & 94/4 by 211 runs
