There is no denying to the fact that Robin Uthappa had a marvellous time with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) when he was at peak of his career. He was often in the race for Orange cap and also took the wicket-keeper role for the sake of the team. However, one bad season has completely changed the scenario for Karnataka batsman.

Seasoned campaigner Robin Uthappa, who was earlier released by Kolkata Knight Riders, will be playing for Rajasthan Royals in next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). But, the flamboyant batsman had beautiful memories with KKR and revealed that it was an emotional moment for him when they released him.

Speaking to Cricfit editor Mikkhail Vaswani, the flamboyant batsman stated that it was hard to take for him after serving the franchise for seven years. He recalled the game when he received the flak for the knock against Mumbai Indians but thanked fans for showing great love and affection during his time with KKR.
”Definitely, it was an emotional moment for me to leave KKR after serving them for seven years. I think fans felt that I let them down last year. Especially, in the game against Mumbai Indians, they felt I let them down. But, the Kolkata people gave me an enormous amount of love for me and I love them a lot,” Robin Uthhapa told to Cricfit editor Mikkhail Vaswani
”Despite receiving so much of hate last year for the first time in my career, they showed great love in the last seven years. They gave me a lot of love for me and my family. The admiration and positive energy for the whole time through. I love Kolkata people and my heart belongs to KKR in a big way in my career,” he further added.

Robin Uthappa had a sensational time with Kolkata Knight Riders for the initial six years. He was one of their star-turns in the title-winning efforts in 2014 scoring 660 runs. He has been one of the star campaigners for the Kolkata-based side knocking tons of turns for his side.
”Being a part of the franchise helped me achieve a lot of my dreams in a sense of being a part of IPL and a part of winning franchise. I really enjoyed being part of KKR,” he concluded.
So far, Robin Uthappa has played 177 matches in all the editions of the IPL in which he has scored 4411 runs at a strike rate of 130.50, including 24 fifties. Meanwhile, this time, around, Robin will ply his trade for Rajasthan Royals and will hope to bring success.
