Virat Kohli’s absence from the last three tests against Australia has been the most trending topic regarding India’s tour of Australia. The Indian skipper will fly back home after leading India in the first Test in Adelaide starting from December 17. Meanwhile, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has once again reacted to Kohli’s absence recently to the media. He said that its more about the team than just Kohli missing from the last three Tests.

Talking to AFP in an interview Sachin Tendulkar said that it also depends on the individuals who replace Kohli for the final three Tests. he further said that it is more about the team playing well in his absence as well.

“When you lose an experienced player like this (Kohli) there is without any doubt a void,” Tendulkar, the record run-maker and former India captain told AFP in an interview.

Virat Kohli’s Absence An Opportunity For Youngsters: Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar further said that Kohli’s absence is a big opportunity for the youngsters in the team. He said that the Indian team has good bench strength and Kohli’s absence should be looked as an opportunity by the youngsters.

“But let’s understand, this is not about individuals. It is about our team and the best part about Indian cricket right now is there is bench strength.So Virat has to come back for personal reasons and some youngster is going to get a chance to play in his spot and that’s an opportunity for someone else” added Tendulkar.

Kohli’s men, who enjoyed a historic first Test series win in Australia on their last tour in 2018-19, know this will be a tougher proposition. Australia are just ahead of India in the world Test rankings and the Adelaide game will be India’s first day-night five-dayer on foreign soil.

India lost the ODI series 2-1 and then came back to win the T20I series 2-1 with Hardik Pandya winning the Man of the series. T Natarajan in Virat’s words was the find of the series for India.
