Team India cricketer Virat Kohli has shared a special video on social media reminiscing his journey in International cricket. He completed 14 years at the International level for India on Thursday, August 18. The veteran India batter is considered a modern-day great in world cricket by the fans and the pundits.

Virat Kohli made his debut for Team India back in 2008 at Dambulla in an ODI match against Sri Lanka. Since then he has been an integral member of the Indian team. The 34-year-old has broken several records with his batting exploits. He has also led India to historic wins across formats with his astute leadership.

The right-handed batter took to social media to share a video celebrating his 14 years of journey in International cricket. He wrote while sharing the video, “14 years ago, it all started and it’s been an honour”

Virat Kohli has represented India in 102 Test matches, scoring 8074 runs at an average of 49.53, including 27 centuries. He also has a terrific record in white-ball cricket, scoring over 12000 runs in ODIs and 3308 runs in T20Is, including 43 ODI centuries. The Delhi cricketer averages above 50 in both the ODIs and the T20Is.

Virat Kohli’s dismal form of late

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has been going through a prolonged lean patch in his career. He has not put up consistent performances for India at the International level. The right-handed batter averages 25.05 this year across formats, scoring 476 runs in 16 matches, including four fifties. His last International century came in 2019 against Bangladesh at home.

Virat Kohli was rested by the Indian selectors for the recently concluded West Indies tour. He will also be missing the upcoming Zimbabwe ODI series. However, the former Indian skipper will make his comeback for the Asia Cup, which begins later this month in the UAE. He will be desperate to get some runs under his belt, ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
