“I’ve Never Won It, And Neither Has Delhi. Let’s Achieve It Together” – Parth Jindal Reveals Chat With KL Rahul After IPL 2025 Auction

Delhi Capitals’ (DC) co-owner, Parth Jindal, revealed details of his conversation with the franchise’s newest marquee signing, KL Rahul, following the IPL 2025 auction. Rahul is set to join the Capitals in the upcoming season.

KL Rahul was a key player and captain for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) since 2022, leading them to consecutive playoff appearances. After a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, speculation grew about his future, and despite assurances, LSG released him ahead of the auction.

Listed in Set 2 of the Marquee Players, KL Rahul attracted interest from multiple franchises, with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and Delhi Capitals vying for his services. Ultimately, Delhi Capitals secured Rahul for ₹14 crore.

Parth Jindal shared insights into his discussion with the 32-year-old, revealing that Rahul expressed excitement about playing for Delhi. Jindal stated (via ESPNcricinfo):

“He’s very happy, very excited to be part of Delhi. He knows me for a long time. He’s a Bangalore (Bengaluru) boy. I own Bengaluru FC (in the Indian Super League), so he’s watched a few games with me. I know his wife Athiya (Shetty) really well. She’s been a close family friend growing up in Mumbai. “

“So he (Rahul) was like, “I just want to play cricket. I just want to get the love and support from the franchise. And I just want to get the respect and I know Parth from you, I will get that and just can’t be more excited to play for a friend and let’s make Delhi win. I have never won (IPL). Delhi has never won. Let’s do it together.”

“Excited to start the season and entertain you all”- KL Rahul reacts to joining Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals (DC) secured KL Rahul for ₹14 crore, making it the fifth franchise of his IPL career after stints with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Punjab Kings (PBKS), and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

In a video shared on DC’s official X account, Rahul said:

“Hey guys, I am super happy to be joining the Delhi Capitals. A new journey begins for me with the Delhi Capitals and I am super excited. The squad looks really good. Can’t wait for the season to begin and come to Delhi and play at the Kotla and entertain all of you. So see you guys there”
