India A led by Ajinkya Rahane are playing the second Warm-up game against Australia A at the Sydney Cricket Ground. India are already six wickets down in the first session and are in a spot of bother. Meanwhile, the wicket of Hanuma Vihari was the best of the lot. The delivery that dismissed him saw good seam movement from Jack Wildermuth after pitching on the fifth stump.

India won the toss and opted to bat first. Mayank Agarwal was the first wicket to fall for India A. Prithvi Shaw (40) and Shubman Gill (43) then added a good 63-run stand before Shaw was dismissed by Will Sutherland of an incoming delivery. Hanuma Vihari then did bide his time scoring 15 off 39 deliveries.

However, he was cleaned up by Wildermuth by a delivery that seamed enough and came in. Vihari on his part played for the ball going away from him and thus misread the movement of the ball. The noise of the ball hitting the stumps did surprise him as he looked dazed and took the long walk back to the pavillion.

Hanuma Vihari Dismissal

From 102 for 3 after Vihari’s wicket, India came down to 106 for 5 with the wickets of Shubman Gill and skipper Ajinkya Rahane. While Chris Green dismissed Gill, Wildermuth accounted for Rahane’s wicket.

The Indian batsman have failed to cope up with the prodigious seam movement of the Australian bowlers. Wildermuth and Will Sutherland especially have posed a lot of problems for the Indian batters. The likes of Gill and Shaw, for whom this was another opportunity, did not make full use of it.

Meanwhile, the Australian bowlers had a feel day at the SCG on the first day of the second Warm-up game. They posed serious problems for the Indian batsmen whose technique has been well and truly tested on the day.
