In a rain-truncated Match 13 of IPL 2026, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) continued their unbeaten streak by defeating Mumbai Indians (MI) by 27 runs at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati. After a three-hour rain delay, the game was reduced to a high-speed 11 overs per side contest. Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bowl, but the decision quickly backfired as the Royals’ openers unleashed an unprecedented assault.
The highlight of the first innings was a fearless opening stand between Yashasvi Jaiswal and the 15-year-old sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The duo dismantled the MI bowling attack from the first ball, racing to 59 runs in just the 3.2 overs of the powerplay. Sooryavanshi provided the early fireworks, stunning the crowd by hitting Jasprit Bumrah for two massive sixes in a quickfire 39 off 14 balls.
After Sooryavanshi’s departure, Jaiswal took complete control of the game. He anchored the innings with a brilliant 77 off 32 deliveries*, laced with 10 boundaries and 4 sixes. His clinical striking ensured that RR posted a mammoth total of 150/3 in their 11 overs, leaving MI with a daunting mountain to climb at a required rate of over 13.6 runs per over.

Archer Strikes Early as Mumbai’s Top Order Collapses in Chase
The Mumbai Indians’ chase never truly got off the ground. Jofra Archer, playing against his former side, struck in the very first over to dismiss Ryan Rickelton. MI’s big hitters, Rohit Sharma (5) and Suryakumar Yadav (6), both fell cheaply within the first three overs, leaving the middle order with too much to do.
Sherfane Rutherford (25 off 8) and Naman Dhir (25 off 13) provided a brief spark of hope with some late-inning boundaries, but RR’s bowlers remained disciplined. Nandre Burger, Sandeep Sharma, and Ravi Bishnoi picked up two wickets each, systematically dismantling the MI lineup.
Mumbai eventually finished at 123/9, handing Rajasthan their third consecutive win and propelling them to the top of the points table. For his match-defining knock, Yashasvi Jaiswalwas rightfully named Player of the Match.
