Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah of India arrived in Bengaluru on Sunday to begin his important recovery checks before the ICC Champions Trophy. BCCI medical staff will provide continuous supervision as Bumrah undergoes investigation tests that will determine the extent of his injuries and develop recovery protocols.
The Indian fast bowler will devote two to three days at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for a complete medical evaluation. The assessment process will play a crucial role in deciding whether Bumrah can participate in the ICC Champions Trophy.
The Indian cricket squad has been worried about Bumrah’s injury condition so this assessment aims to confirm his readiness to play. The BCCI medical staff will closely support Jasprit Bumrah while providing complete medical support and rehabilitation to return him to top form. As India prepares for the approaching ICC Champions Trophy competition, they expect Bumrah to return swiftly to cricket action following this assessment of his fitness readiness.
Jasprit Bumrah has been told to off-load for five weeks
The medical assessment of Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness condition will reach the senior men’s selection committee through Ajit Agarkar, who acts as its chairman. The members of the selection committee will take responsibility for deciding Bumrah’s cricket comeback timeline.
Before the Border-Gavaskar series, Ajit Agarkar declared Jasprit Bumrah needed five weeks of rest. Agarkar previously indicated that he would announce Bumrah’s fitness status before the upcoming Champions Trophy selection period.
The selection committee needs to decide whether Bumrah can participate in the Champions Trophy. The recent fitness update regarding Bumrah will show how well he has recovered from his injury and whether the team might use him at the tournament. The medical findings and selection choice about Jasprit Bumrah’s future shaped by the selection panel will receive high anticipation from India’s team players.
“Jasprit Bumrah has been told to off-load for five weeks after he won’t be available for the first two ODIs against England. We are waiting on his fitness and will know his status in early February from the medical team. We’ll probably find out a bit more around that time, what exactly, and with regards to what his medical condition is, I’m sure BCCI might just put something out, from the physio itself,” Agarkar had revealed.
