Jasprit Bumrah Has Taken Over The Baton From Lasith Malinga – Kieron Pollard

Mumbai Indians might have finished on the losing side, every word falls short while praising fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. He was right on the money to give only five runs in the Super Over earning praise from all quarters. Veteran all-rounder Kieron Pollard also spoke highly of Bumrah saying the latter has taken over the baton from Lasith Malinga.

With the veteran speedster, who has been guarding Mumbai’s pace attack for eternity, skipping IPL 2020, all responsibilities on Jasprit Bumrah. And one can rightly say, the fast bowler from Gujarat has lived up to the expectations.

Kieron Pollard praises Jasprit Bumrah

From removing KL Rahul in the 18th over to bring back Mumbai Indians in the game to bowling a superb Super Over, Bumrah did all. However, luck was not on his side as Kings XI Punjab finished on the right and it was his India teammate Mohammed Shami, who had the last laugh.

Senior all-rounder Kieron Pollard was all praise for Jasprit Bumrah while speaking at the end of the game. The vice-captain of Mumbai Indians said that Bumrah has rightly taken over the baton from Malinga. So far, Bumrah has scalped 15 wickets from nine matches and is second the list of highest wicket-takers in IPL 2020.

“We have comfort in him. A couple of years ago, we had a fit and fair Lasith Malinga and he (Bumrah) has taken over that mantle now and so,” Kieron Pollard said at the end of the game.

Mumbai Indians will hope Jasprit Bumrah to keep up this brilliant run as they look to defend their title. They next face Chennai Super Kings on October 23 (Friday) and will be desperate to return to winning ways.
