Premier Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah decided to have a different kind of a net session after reaching Sydney for the third Test on Monday, January 4. The SCG Test starts from January 7 with the Test match at 1-1 at the moment. All the Indian players reached Sydney after testing COVID negative. The five isolated Indian players also accompanied the team. Bumrah recently scored a fifty in one of the warm-up matches which has increased his confidence with the bat.

With no further updates from Cricket Australia’s investigation into the bio-protocol breach by five Indian players, a full-strength team started training on Tuesday.

While the BCCI officials spoke about stricter quarantine rules in Brisbane for the fourth Test, a similar bubble has been put together for both teams during their stay in Sydney, too.

With Sydney declaring a few of their areas as COVID hotspots and New South Wales registering seven more positive cases on Monday, players of both teams would not be allowed to move out of their hotel, except for training.

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah’s batting was enjoyed more by his teammates than him. He presented the full face of the bat as he was hitting the ball from the sweet spot during practice.

Meanwhile, he was also credited for helping the debutant Mohammad Siraj in the second Test in the absence of Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, and also Umesh Yadav.

Bumrah was praised very recently by batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, who hailed him as the champion bowler of the team. “In the fast bowling department, Bumrah as the leader of the attack has taken more responsibility and whenever the chips are down, he has pushed himself harder. That’s the sign of a champion bowler” Tendulkar told PTI.

Making his international debut in 2016, Jasprit Bumrah has become the spearhead of the Indian pace attack in quick time. He has taken eight wickets in the two-Test matches so far and holds importance to the bowling attack in the absence of Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav, who have been ruled out of the Test series.
