Jasprit Bumrah Maiden IPL wicket

Jasprit Bumrah is all set to play in the IPL 2021 for Mumbai Indians after his marriage with sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan. He was released from the Indian team for his marriage and he is back now with Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2021. Bumrah with over 100 wickets for the franchise is well and truly the leader of the Mumbai attack now. He is also the leader of the bowling attack of the Indian cricket team in all formats.

He made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians on April 4 2013 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. His first over in IPL cricket will always be memorable as he picked up the wicket of Virat Kohli. The Indian skipper was his maiden IPL wicket after Bumrah was hit for three boundaries in the first four balls of his first over in IPL cricket.

In the fifth delivery of his over, Bumrah bowled an incoming delivery which trapped Kohli in front of the wicket and the umpire ruled him out. It was jubilation for Bumrah while disappointment for Kohli who never likes getting dismissed. Incidentally, Virat Kohli was also Jasprit Bumrah’s 100th IPL scalp in the previous edition of the IPL.

Three years after making his IPL debut, Bumrah made his India debut against Australia. The 27-year-old has played 67 ODIs and 50 T20Is for the country. He has bagged a total of 167 wickets in the white-ball format. In 19 Tests so far, he picked 83 wickets including five 5-wicket hauls.
