Jasprit Bumrah may not play the final Test against Australia due to an abdominal strain, which could also be a tear. The team management is unlikely to take any chances wit Bumrah as the England Test series is just around the corner. Now as per a TOI report, it is believed that all-rounder Washington Sundar is the prime contender to replace him in the Brisbane Test.

After the conclusion of the T20I series, Washington Sundar stayed with the Indian team as a net bowler. The cricketer from Tamil Nadu is now in line to make his Test debut in the final Test of the series against Australia.

Jasprit Bumrah bowled several overs during the SCG Test and unfortunately picked an abdominal strain. Now the management has got plenty of injury concerns ahead of the final Test. Ravindra Jadeja has already been ruled out of the Test series whereas Hanuma Vihari and R. Ashwin to aren’t sure-shot starters for the Brisbane Test.

Jasprit Bumrah Doubtful Washington Sundar Might Replace Him

Meanwhile, in place of Bumrah and Jadeja, the management is expected to play Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar and improve the balance of the side. The Indian team will bank of the all-around capabilities of Sundar who can contribute in all departments. As far as the fast bowling of India for the final Test is concerned the team can go with the combination of Mohammed Siraj, Navdeep Saini and Shardul Thakur.

Furthermore, Mayank Agarwal too is expected to make a comeback in the side in place of specialist batsman Hanuma Vihari. Agarwal failed in the first two Test matches but it likely to get a nod ahead of Prithvi Shaw. Also, T. Natarajan might have to wait for his Test match debut as Shardul Thakur is anticipated to play ahead of him due to his red-ball cricket experience.
