Jasprit Bumrah Falls, Ishan Kishan Jumps In ICC Rankings Ahead Of T20 World Cup 2026

Jasprit Bumrah slipped two spots in the latest ICC T20I bowlers’ rankings released on Wednesday, February 4, after taking just four wickets in four T20Is against New Zealand last month. He now sits at 15th place. In contrast, Arshdeep Singh climbed two places to 14th following his career-best 5/51 in the fifth T20I.

The left-arm pacer claimed a total of eight wickets across the four games in the series. Axar Patel also moved up three spots to 17th after picking up three wickets in the final match. The left-arm spinner finished the series with four wickets from two games.

Other notable movers included England’s Adil Rashid, who rose two places to fourth, and New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner, who jumped eight spots to joint 23rd in the rankings. Meanwhile, Varun Chakravarthy held on to his World No. 1 ranking with a rating of 776, leading second-placed Abrar Ahmed (748) by 38 points.

The leg-spinner picked up four wickets in three matches against New Zealand.

Ishan Kishan Climbs Big In ICC Rankings

Ishan Kishan has made a remarkable jump in the latest ICC T20I batting rankings after scoring his maiden century against New Zealand in the fifth T20I. The wicketkeeper-batter smashed 103 off just 43 balls, climbing 32 spots to 32nd in the rankings.

With 215 runs in four innings, Kishan was the second-highest run-scorer of the five-match series, behind captain Suryakumar Yadav, who scored 242 in five innings and moved up one place to sixth in the rankings. Tilak Varma, sidelined due to injury, dropped one spot to fourth, while former England captain Jos Buttler moved up to third.

Other notable movers included Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka (fifth) and New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert (ninth), each advancing one place. Australia’s Cameron Green rose 10 places to 14th, South Africa’s Quinton de Kock jumped 15 spots to 22nd, and Ryan Rickelton climbed 42 rungs to 40th in the latest rankings.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma maintained his No. 1 position in the T20I batting rankings with 917 points, 83 ahead of England’s Phil Salt. In the ICC T20I all-rounders rankings, Shivam Dube entered the top 10, rising two places to ninth after scoring 117 runs in four innings and taking three wickets. Pakistan’s Saim Ayub claimed the top spot, surpassing Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza.
