Jasprit Bumrah Reveals MS Dhoni’s Pep-Talk On His International Debut

Jasprit Bumrah has been India's go-to bowler ever since he bursts onto the international circuit. With his deadly yorkers and deceptive slowers, Bumrah became a crowd's favourite and a lethal weapon for the Men in Blues in no time. He has time and again laid the importance of MS Dhoni in his career, and Bumrah recently revealed what Dhoni told him on his debut. 

After making inroads for the Mumbai Indians side in the Indian Premier League, Jasprit Bumrah was drafted into the Indian side for a limited-overs series against Australia in 2016. He returned with figures of one for 40 in his 10 overs. Meanwhile, very few people believed that Bumrah would go on to become of the best in the business.

However, his skipper MS Dhoni had the belief in the pacer, who stood tall in his potential to deliver the goods for his side. Recently, in a candid chat with Cricbuzz, Jasprit Bumrah revealed what MS Dhoni told him on his international debut. 

“Nobody came up to me, nobody said anything, but MS came up and said just be yourself and enjoy,” Bumrah revealed in Cricbuzz show Spicy Pitch.

Meanwhile, the cricketer from Gujarat earned his Test cap during the South Africa tour in 2018 and immediately shattered records with his outstanding display of bowling. Although early in his career, the young pacer has made a different identity for himself and has been the No. 1 bowler in the ICC Rankings for a long period of time.

Jasprit Bumrah had a difficult run in the limited-overs series against New Zealand. He returned wicketless for the first time in his international career during the three-match ODI series, where India suffered a clean sweep. He has also started the Test series on a similar note and remained wicketless on the second day before breaking the shackles on day three.
