After Hanuma Vihari and Ravindra Jadeja, Team India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is like to miss the final Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy scheduled to take place in Brisbane. Meanwhile, the Indian team has turned into a mini-hospital after the list of injured cricketers got bigger as the series progressed.

Incidentally, Bumrah complained of a groin injury throughout the third Test in Sydney. He was attended by physio Nitin Patel during the fourth day’s play a couple of times. However, Jasprit Bumrah, being the senior pacer in the bowling attack, continued to get on with his bowling to help bowl out the Aussies for a cheap total.

Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of the fourth Test

India’s pace attack was already reeling with injuries to first-choice players Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Umesh Yadav. The addition of Jasprit Bumrah to the list will be a big blow for the Indian team management ahead of the fourth Test.

A report in Press Trust Of India confirmed that the ace fast bowler will miss the final tie of the tour. It is understood that the Indian team is not keen on risking Bumrah who has an abdominal strain, which could also be a tear.

Jasprit Bumrah returned with three wickets in the match which took his tally to 11 wickets at an average of 29.36 in the three Tests so far in the ongoing series.

Meanwhile, previously, Ravindra Jadeja and Hanuma Vihari were ruled out of the fourth Test with injuries. Jadeja suffered a dislocation in his finger while Vihari had a hamstring tear. However, the batsman from Andhra battled his injury to bat for over 4 hours and save the Test match for India. His partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin will go down in the history books of Indian cricket which helped them save the match where they were not even in contention.

The fourth Test commences from January 15 in Brisbane with the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at stake.
