New ICC Chair Jay Shah held discussions this week with IOC President Thomas Bach and other senior International Olympic Committee officials during an LA 2028 International Federations seminar at the Olympic House in Lausanne, Switzerland. Shah was accompanied by ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice.
The meeting marked Shah’s first interaction with Bach and focused on strengthening collaboration between the ICC and IOC ahead of the LA 2028 Olympic Games. They explored ways to integrate Olympic values such as excellence, friendship, and respect into the global cricketing community.
The ICC shared the update on their official Instagram account on Tuesday:

Who Is Thomas Bach? A Closer Look at the IOC President
Thomas Bach, a former Olympic athlete and current President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), is a German ex-fencer who competed during the 1970s and 1980s. He secured a gold medal in team foil fencing at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Canada.
Following his athletic career, Bach transitioned into sports administration and was elected IOC President in 2013. In this role, he oversees the organization of the Olympic Games and works to uphold and promote the values of the Olympic movement.
