Jitesh Sharma’s Stunning Catch Sends Ruturaj Gaikwad Packing In Vijay Hazare Semi-Final

Vidarbha wicket-keeper Jitesh Sharma executed a spectacular catch to dismiss Ruturaj Gaikwad during the second Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 semi-final clash on Thursday, January 16. Batting first, Vidarbha posted a formidable total of 380/3 in their 50 overs.

Facing a daunting target, Maharashtra suffered an early setback as skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was dismissed for just 7 runs off 13 balls. On the third ball of the third over, pacer Darshan Nalkande delivered a sharp short ball that Gaikwad attempted to pull.

Beaten by pace, Gaikwad top-edged the ball high into the air. Despite the ball traveling away from him, Jitesh sprinted 20 yards to his left and executed a full-stretch dive to complete an extraordinary catch.

It was a brilliant effort that sent the Maharashtra skipper packing in a crucial Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 semi-final. Jitesh kept his eyes locked on the ball throughout and leaped full stretch to pull off an exceptional catch. You can watch the video here:
