Star England fast bowler Jofra Archer will miss the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with an elbow fracture. It will be a massive setback for the Rajasthan Royals (RR), who had retained him for the 13th season of the tournament.
Archer had picked the injury in the first Test against South Africa in Centurion. Subsequently, he missed the remaining three Tests in a series that England won 3-1. And as things stand out, Jofra Archer will be out of action till June including the cash-rich league in India. England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in a recent statement said that the Barbados-born pacer will now start recovery with a view to being fit for the series against West Indies in June.

“He will now commence an injury rehabilitation programme with the ECB medical team with a view to be ready for the international summer campaign starting in June against West Indies in a three-match Test series,” the ECB stated in a release on Thursday (February 6).
Jofra Archer has been a star campaigner for Rajasthan Royals in the last two season, although he didn’t attain the desired result. He scalped 26 wickets from 21 matches and scored some valuable runs down the order. On top of that, he was a spectacular fielder in the outfield. The Royals management will now have to look for a replacement for the star seamer with only seven weeks to go for the tournament to commence.
