Josh Hazlewood & Pat Cummins ruled out of Pakistan Series

The problems for the Kangaroos don”t seem to wipe off so early. Though Starc has already announced his availability for the Pakistan series, the side suffered a major setback with a disappointing news yesterday.

The duo of Josh Hazelwood and Pat Cummins isn”t fit yet and they are ruled out of the series. The bowling stars had been out of the side for some time due to a bone stress. In fact, Pat Cummins who was expected to be a part of the Mumbai Indians squad, wasn”t in a situation to make it to the field on account of an injury.

Speaking on the same, physio David Beakley said “Pat and Josh are progressing well from their lumbar bone stress injuries but are not bowling, so, unfortunately, they will not be at the level required for Test match intensity come October. Barring any setbacks, we are hopeful that Pat and Josh will return via the back-end of the JLT One-Day Cup, with the aim of them being available for the ODI Series against South Africa in November as they build towards the Indian Test Series.”

However, this news has definitely left the Cricket Australia in tatters as they would be looking for probable replacements. Though the fitness levels of James Pattinson hasn”t been out, his services could come in handy for the side who are expecting to recreate the Ashes magic.

It is to be noted that their star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been out of action for a while now. As the fixtures for this UAE tour aren”t out yet, the board still has some time to take a call on the squad to be named.
