Tamil Nadu batter B Sai Sudharsan earned a maiden India call-up for the tour of South Africa as the Board of Cricket for Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday, November 30 announced the squads. The tour kicks off on Sunday, December 10 with the T20I series in Durban.
B Sai Sudharsan was included in India’s ODI squad for the upcoming tour. He has been brilliant in domestic cricket for Tamil Nadu. Earlier this year, he slammed a blistering 96 in the Indian Premier League final. He also smashed a century in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. Reacting to his selection in Team India, B Sai Sudharsan said to Sportstar,
“It is a great feeling, and I am a bit lost for words. It is a dream come true for me. But at the same time, this is just the beginning. There are many areas where I need to improve.”

B Sai Sudharshan has played 22 List A matches, scoring 1236 runs at an average of 96.48. In his small career so far, he has slammed six centuries and four cities. He credited the various domestic tournaments, including the TNPL and IPL. He expressed that these tournaments have helped him to improve his batting.
“I think the TNPL in 2021 and this year’s IPL have been some of the key moments in my career so far and helped me progress. I learnt a lot playing in all these tournaments, and the exposure it has given me has helped me improve as a batter,” said Sai Sudharsan.
