Justin Langer Shares What He Would’ve Done If He Was In Ravi Shastri’s Shoes

The head coach of the Australian Cricket Team Justin Langer is glad at the moment that its the Indian team who is stressed out ahead of the 2nd Test rather than the Australian side. The 2nd test between the two sides kicks off on 26th of December at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the visiting side will walk into the 2nd Test after suffering a pounding defeat in the 1st Test where they were bowled out for a mere 36 in the second innings.

It is expected that India are to make as many as 4 changes to their squad whereas Australia will be going unchanged into the 2nd test. The Aussie coach Justin Langer has little things to worry about as the side had all its bases covered in the 1st test.

None of my business, I have had enough with stresses: Justin Langer

During a virtual press conference, Justin Langer was asked what he would’ve done if he were in India Coach Ravi Shastri’s shoes to which the Aussie had a straight forward answer. He said its none of his business though he does empathise with the opposition and understands what it feels like to be in such a position.

“What would he have done had he been in India coach Ravi Shastri’s shoes? “None of my business. I have had enough with stresses ….I empathise with the opposition and I know what it feels like. If India are feeling any stress, I am glad they are and not us over the Christmas weekend,” Langer said during a virtual media conference organised by series broadcasters Sony Network.

Justin Langer further added how the absence of regular skipper Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami from the Indian side will give the Australians an advantage as those two stars add immense value to the side. Kohli has travelled back to India to be with his wife Anushka Sharma, who is expecting the birth of her first child while Shami is out of the entire series owing to a fractured arm.

“Of course, whatever sport you play, if you take out two of your stars, Virat Kohli is an all-time great player I think and Shami is a real glue for the team because he is so miserly and skilful. It surely gives us some advantage,” he said.
