Kagiso Rabada Likely To Return By Month-End, Confirms GT Skipper Shubman Gill

Gujarat Titans’ captain Shubman Gill has confirmed that ace pacer Kagiso Rabada is expected to rejoin the squad by the last week of April. The South African speedster has missed multiple matches this season due to personal commitments, having played only the first two games.

As GT faced off against Delhi Capitals on April 19 in a high-profile IPL 2025 encounter in Ahmedabad, Rabada was notably absent again. Speaking at the toss, Gill mentioned that Rabada is likely to return in about 10 days, offering hope for the Titans’ pace unit to be back at full strength soon.

GT Show Depth Despite Rabada’s Absence

Even without Rabada, Gujarat Titans have been performing impressively, especially in the bowling department. Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore have all stepped up to fill the void, delivering consistent performances throughout the tournament.

GT maintained the same Playing XI that featured in their previous game against Lucknow Super Giants, which they lost. Despite that loss, the team management showed faith in their current lineup, trusting the depth of their squad to manage in Rabada’s absence.

Delhi Capitals Tweak Lineup; GT Stay Unchanged

While GT opted for an unchanged XI, Delhi Capitals made a minor adjustment by dropping Jake Fraser-McGurk. Abhishek Sharma, who has mostly been used as an Impact Player so far this season, was brought into the starting XI. With Faf du Plessis still sidelined due to injury, DC had to reshuffle their opening pair against GT’s strong bowling attack. The Capitals retained most of their previous squad, showing only slight changes to adapt to the Titans’ challenge.
