Kane Williamson Looking Forward To Playing In IPL 2020

After reports suggest that BCCI is planning to host IPL 2020 in the UAE, the buzz has already started among the fans. The cricketers are also keeping their fans and the excitement has also gripped them well. New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has also expressed his desire to play IPL 2020 and is gearing up for it.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, ICC postponed the T20 World Cup 2020 scheduled to take place in Australia. The announcement cleared all the blocks for BCCI to host the cash-rich league. With the spike in COVID-19 cases in India, the apex body is planning to move the tournament outside India.

However, it is yet far from getting finalised. Currently, BCCI has sought clearance from the Government to host the tournament. With two months still to go, former Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson said that he is looking forward to the 13th edition of IPL.

“Considering what it actually looks like where it is and all the details that come with it, to play in the IPL is always an amazing thing so, absolutely, it will be great to play in it and be a part of it. But there’s a lot of details to come through before any final decisions will be made. It will be nice to know more,” ESPNCricnfo quoted Williamson as saying.

“There’s nothing concrete, with the postponement of the T20 World Cup announced only a day or two ago, no doubt there’s a lot of organising that needs to be done or any sort of decision is made, and I guess they are wanting to make sure that things are planned before speaking to players with any certainty,” he added.

So far, Kane Williamson has played 41 IPL games amassing 1302 runs at an average of 39. He has also led Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last couple of seasons. Meanwhile, Williamson has resumed training in his country after New Zealand witnessed the COVID-19 curve to flatten.
