Williamson’s recovery from the groin strain has been steady, but he has not yet reached full fitness. Head coach Gary Stead provided an update on his progress, explaining that although Williamson is making significant improvements, he is not ready to return to the field. “We’re monitoring Kane and he’s tracking in the right direction, but isn’t yet 100 per cent fit,” Stead said in a statement issued by NZC.
The team is hopeful that the batter will recover in time for the third and final Test, which is scheduled to be held in Mumbai from November 1. The team remains cautious in their approach to his recovery, ensuring that Williamson gets the necessary time to fully heal.
