Will Young, who has been part of the New Zealand squad for some time, will get a chance to shine in the absence of Williamson. Latham highlighted that Young has previously performed well and has experience playing in different batting positions, from opening to batting at numbers 3 and 4.
Latham sees this as an excellent opportunity for Young to prove himself on the international stage, especially against a formidable Indian bowling attack. “It’s disappointing not to have Kane here, but Will Young will play tomorrow. He’s been in the squad for a long time, and this is his chance to put his hand up,” Latham said, showing faith in Young’s abilities and past performances.
